Bubby: The Bald and the Beautiful!

Remember that one time when I thought I had to go to the bathroom really bad? Yes, it was 8 months ago today that Clancy and Shell each grabbed a leg and the games began. They played the role as my ultimate and most trusted friends. Our little creepy scootching ninja is 8 months old today! Happy Birthday Bubby!

She is just about the cutest, smiliest little thing you would ever want to see! She is still quite long in length but now has some serious cheeks and chubby legs! She has one little tooth poking through on the bottom. She demands attention and is quite particular about who she will spend her time with and who may have the honorable pleasure of her attention.

She's stealthy and is already she is a girl with a plan! She rolls her way quickly (very literally) into the hearts of those around her and will throw her arms out when she wants you to take her. She is very much a girl who knows what she wants and will let you know when she is not happy with her fake little cry.

She does the infamous 'gorilla stomp' in her bed when she is awake. This is the act of her bringing both of her legs up and strategically dropping them both down as hard as she can thus pummeling her little mattress! It is loud and meant to summon anyone in ear shot!

She has the cheesiest grin and will accompany it with squinted closed eyes while she throws her round and peach fuzz filled head back. It makes for quite the show and yes, she busts it out at all the right moments!

She's all about her fruits and veggies...except for anything green. I can't be sure if she discriminates based on color or if she really realizes that those taste worse! Either way I can't blame the girl and am just thankful that she is off the pricey Nutramigen!

She's had her fair share of ear infections and pulls through like a champ. Mark has manned up big time by taking her to all of her doctor's appointments. I can't bear it and so he plays the role of brave comforter. Holding her while they stick her shots doesn't really work for me.

And I shall not forget that our little Adalie is a tongue clicker! She will click her tongue, wait for you to do it back and then she graciously takes her turn again. She loves being able to communicate and gets so excited! She will also do this with her fake cough, silly girl.

Besides rolling everywhere she can also scootch backward and spin on her tummy with her strong little arms. She still does her sit ups when on her back, which still makes us laugh! She insists on sitting up but never stays still for long. We've got a mover and a shaker on our hands and I can't wait to see what she does in this world!

On the B Side: We are so happy to have her in our lives! She is the perfect compliment to our little family and is loved by all! She glows when her siblings give her their undivided attention. She brings us all together and I can't imagine our lives without her. She is an amazing blessing and we love her so much! Happy Birthday Adalie Elizabeth!

5 Months and Counting!

Years ago I was told that I would not be able to bear children. Dayton was a miracle and the doctors all scratched their heads. Ellianne was yet another spectacular surprise that followed a short 14 later. They both attested to the fact that medical science is grand but that there certainly is a higher power and that there is a plan for each of us.

Mark wanted a little one of our own. This would make our little blended family mine, yours and ours; a modern day Brady Bunch with a twist. I was told my brain tumor was active again and quietly held little hope when BAM! the blessing came. Not one. Not two but THREE count them 1,2,3 miracle babies.

Adalie is a delight. She is 5 months old today and makes us all smile and politely fight for her attention. The kids can't wait to see her each morning and love kissing her good night. We take turns holding her during family prayer and everyone gathers when it is time to bathe her so we can all watch her splash and kick her legs around.

The pictures are endless and we have had to run some crowd control at times. Her sweet smile and soft giggles are a pleasant reminder of just how blessed we really are. Her little petite features are darling and her eyes always seem to light up when she sees someone she loves. Her arms flap around when she is excited and she is slowly mastering the use of her pretty hands (which aside from her darling nose are my favorite part of her!).

She lays in her crib and pulls her legs up and throws them down for fun and the only time she really complains is when she is hungry. I often wonder where her feet will take her and what she will do with her beautiful hands. She is porcelain like a doll and we do get that often! She is patient and tolerant and she really does complete us!

On the B Side: Life is never what *you* plan and it's a good thing as I would have messed it all up a long time ago!! I love our little family and wouldn't change one thing, not one. xoxo

Nothing But Love

Adi is this amazing little blessing in our lives! She is such a good little baby and absolutely beautiful to look at and yes, I realize I am completely and utterly partial!!! I'm okay with that!

I wish I could freeze time and keep her small and cuddly forever! I love this stage where they are constantly balled up with their arms and legs in tight. I would snuggle her forever! The time is already going way too fast.

Given that today is Pioneer Day (state holiday, weird I know) the kids are going with Mark to his brother's for a BBQ and fireworks. I am going to stay home, keep our baby isolated and enjoy the cuddle time!

Ellie had a really hard time falling to sleep last night so finally after many tears I had her come up and sleep by Adalie. This is also where she sets up camp to nap each day!

On the B Side: I couldn't be any happier! Our little Adalie Elizabeth is absolutely precious and very well loved! We've been super fortunate to have the love and support of so many both during and after her birth. I can't believe we get to keep her!!!!!!!

Ahem! Your attention please. Introducing...

Adalie Elizabeth!
While she is not here yet we did catch some precious glimpes of our little girl last night! Keep in mind that I fully realize that I am completely biased but I do think she is absolutely beautiful! I also completely understand that these images are a mixture of science and art and do require the use of some imagination. Bear with me and admire our next tender addition!

We were relieved that she is healthy! She is free from a cleft palate, downs and spinal bifida. We also confirmed that she is indeed a SHE so there will be no big surprises! She weighs 3.6 lbs which is actually a titch smaller than she should be which is a relief given the diabetes. Here she is with her little right hand curled up by her pretty little face.
Here is her sweet little profile! She has a little nose identical to Kayla's. We got to see her moving around a little in real time which was plain amazing! My heart melted in wonder and awe.
On the B Side: Seeing our baby is not something that I can describe! It was surreal and wonderful and brought so much excitement to myself and Marky. The kids stayed attentive for the first few minutes but got bored pretty quickly. Nonetheless it was an extremely special experience for all of us. I feel so excited and energized and was able to step back and look at the big picture all over again. We are so crazy blessed and I am so excited from the inside out! xoxo

Week in Review

This week was another one that went by so quickly! Baby Adalie is now 25 weeks and Doc N says she is measuring 2.5 weeks ahead. No, this does not mean that she will necessarily arrive early just that she will be HUGE. Hmm...let's see. Ellie always measured spot on, came two weeks early and was 8 lbs 10 oz. AM I REALLY GOING TO HAVE A 10 POUND BABY?? Given all of the contractions and such I am on restricted activities, which is fine by me but let's face it...as a Mom there is no such thing, agreed??? Doc said baby cakes has got to at least hold on until 28 weeks.

The kids had swimming lessons again this week with Natalie. Luckily Mommy Amy helped out in a pinch as I was with my friend Michelle who has MS. The kids have been doing well and seem to enjoy learning to swim although they still make me incredibly nervous! Dayton insists that the baby's name is really going to be Natalie (after his swim teacher) and we'll just call her Adalie. Good thinking, champ ;)

I ordered some embroidered burp clothes from my Sister-in-law with 'Adalie' on them so that Mark can stop vacillating and let me have my way! I'm starting a baby book after being inspired by Micci's wedding book that she put together! this way I can keep track of all kinds of ideas and the like.

Dayton has been staying with his Dad more overnights and I am adapting. Again, ironic that I am the one growing up here in this situation! Ellie's tears seem to have lessoned for now so that's a huge relief as well. I met with Christian this week without the children and am working on the unity in our home to help provide security for the children.

Wednesday I was remote from Mike and Michelle's to help care for her while Mike was in the office. Unfortunately she had yet another exacerbation. They have been hitting every two weeks and just won't quit. In the afternoon I took her in for part of her series of steroid treatment. While I got plenty of work done the day was also filled with plenty of tears and a butt load of giggles! I really enjoy helping and am slowly adjusting to the rapid changes that occur to her poor battered body.

Last night Mark and I went to the Melting Pot for dinner. It's been my fav since it hit SLC and is the only thing that even comes close to my love for fondue that developed while traveling! It was nice to have a 'date' and spend time with my husband free of distractions and at one point he even stopped talking about work! He insists that we go to a movie tonight but we'll see if either one of us has the energy.

Today is a full day of being pampered by Shell Bait at her school. She's doing my hair (cut and color) complete with a facial and a pedicure. This is at her request (poor me, I know right?) as to avoid random customers and let's face it...I am so not opposed AND it falls right in line with my new marching orders from Doc N. PERFECT!

Things are slowly moving along with our house. The renters are in the process of wrapping things up for the sale which will enable us to get settled. I AM SO EXCITED! Mark's been working his butt off to make this all happen while I'm busy trying to simplify things by selling that which we do not need and have no desire to move again!

Dayton has another loose tooth and got to bring Sumi home from school. This was definitely the highlight of his week! I've been meaning to post Ellie's math for some time now as she is a total rock star but was slightly dismayed that Miss Molen spelled her name wrong! Here's our little 4 year olds recent work...

Anyway, I am off to relax with my favorite beauty school drop out wanna be!

On the B Side: I love life. The good, the bad. I love the quiet moments and even the chaotic ones. I love the aches, pains and tears (usually more so in retrospect) as well as the simply joyful moments!
