Gotta Get Yourself Connected

The writing's on the wall...

If you have a blog and haven't already done so you need to add the 'Followers' widget to your layout AND if you're reading this and haven't already done so you need to add yourself as a Follower! You don't have to have a blog to be a Follower. All you need to do is click on the link that says, "FOLLOW THIS BLOG" located to the right. If you have a blog your icon will display and link to your blog or you can remain anonymous if you like.

On the B Side: What would I do without connecting to others? Blogging has made all of the difference and is one of my favorite past times as I love reading about the lives of others and 'meeting' new people!

PS I would be a jerk Mom if I didn't mention that Adi Cakes is now 3 months old! She is very much wide eyed and full of huge smiles to boot! Our little pumpkin head is cuter than ever!

Friday's Fab Five

I know, I know. This is going to sound like a church talk but it's what is on my mind so bear with me! These are the things that feel so fabulous to me right now;

1. Humility - There is a detoxing goodness about being humbled and a quiet sweetness that accompanies adversity.

2. Kindness - Simple and caring acts mean so much and make such a difference. Thank you Kougy for always checking in and making me laugh whether you mean to or not!

3. Past experience - From it we build character and gain strength that fill our reservoirs that we draw upon in the future (when we don't feel strong or wise).

4. Service - It is the quiet, loving effort of others that lift our heavy hearts. Thank you for the visit and dinner on Sunday, Cynthia. You are wonderful and I do so love you, my friend.

5. Learning - I love to learn and that's what we're here to do. Most of the time I learn the hard way, kicking and screaming the whole time but ultimately I do learn and that part of it feels good.

On the B Side: I am grateful for the simple things in this life and appreciate the love and support of so many!

Random Thursday 13

1. You know you suck rocks when your 6 year old innocently asks, 'Mom, why aren't you happy?'

2. Adi is sleeping like a champ through the night and this makes my world so much better.

3. When your home is a mess the universe feels completely upside down and out of sync.

4. Why is that we always hurt the ones we love the most?

5. When did I adopt the policy of hanging up on people? Last night. Sorry Mikey :(

6. Ellie wore capri's today...shocking and so cute to have her in something other than a skirt!

7. Not wearing my garments makes me cranky and uncomfortable. See #8.

8. My washing machine and dryer are my life line.

9. Buying clothes are Walmart to you have something clean to wear sucks real bad. See #8.

10. Not taking things personally makes life so much easier across the board.

11. Communication and compromise are vital/crucial/critical/imperative/absolutely necessary.

12. It's way too easy to get caught up in things that just don't matter.

13. Being at the office is the easiest part of my life.

On the B Side: Sometimes when we see/feel the downside of things/life it brings a greater appreciation of the good/real/important things. Thank you for being patient with me this morning, Marky. I'm slowly climbing out of this yucky place!

Wordless Wednesday: The Great Pumpkin

Angel and a Pest

In honor of my friend Ivana here is this week's post.

Angel: This week's angel is a tough one as there have been so many in our lives these past few days particularly as it relates to our packing, moving, unpacking and cleaning. As I thought about it I decided that I hardly make mention of some my favorite people.

Micci has been completley exhausted with her migraines and helped on the spot yesterday. She is a hard worker and busted her heiny on behalf of my family until late into the night. As if that wasn't enough she was absolutely pleasant and wonderful despite it all the entire time. She always smiles and I love it when she giggles. She continually kicks my brothers butt while all the while standing in complete adoration of him (which he happily reciprocates). Two very happy and very helpful peas in a pod! THANK YOU!

I definitely need to make mention of Jenny. Jenny is Mark's older (but not the oldest) sister. I've struggled to know how to best develop a relationship with her. We've had some honest ups and downs but I can tell you that I really do sincerely love her. She is extremely family oriented and takes the Mama Bear syndrome to a whole new level as it extends beyond her children to include ALL of her family. She has a very protective and I respect her for being so strong and so passionate. She has stepped in many times this week and also was with us late into the night. Most of all she gave me the pep talk of a life time that brought much comfort.

Definitely note that lots of people have helped us with the move and we appreciate everyone's selflessness. The time and energy you have put into us is priceless and I do thank you. You know who you are and we are grateful for your service.

Pest: This week's pest is an easy winner. Bugs, don't bug me. Stay away from my family. Particularly, to all of the spiders and earwigs that attempt to intrude....DIE! Die, die, die. It sucked to find you in the bathroom. It was awful to find you on my leg. Terrible to have you crawl out of the diaper bag and ONTO MY ARM while at the store but if I catch you in my baby's car seat again there is going to be some serious hell to pay. In the mean time please note that the pesticide people are on their way TODAY. BWHAHAHAHA!

On the B Side: I am not working again today for the sake of continuing to move my family. The down time and the quiet time seems to be serving me well. Time to jump into the ring for the day~

Manic Monday: Nuts

Each week Mo gives us a word and lets us run wild! Feel free to join in the fun here.

While life moves at a very fast pace and is generally nuts, this weekend was particularly nuts. I wish I could say it was the good kind of nuts (Mmm like almonds or warm roasted pecans with brown sugar) but it was the bad kind of nuts that made me cry a lot. Some times I think it's post partem or something (nice cop out) but regardless today was the nuttiest of the nuts (that's putting it nicely and keeping it vague for the purpose of not coming across as a total nut aka psycho) and I found myself breaking down into tears more often than not. I don't think I have ever cried this much and I'm pretty sure I haven't had this much reason...oh wait. I think I have had reason but I'm certain I use to be able to cope! I think my eye balls hurt from crying so much. Ouch (they really do).

On the B Side: If you are reading this and thinking, "I'm sorry" please don't be. While I appreciate it please know that I am at the heart and soul of the nuttiness that is my life hence it comes as a result of my own hand. Not only am I a nut, I am a r tard...ugh. While the thought of tomorrow being a new day, a better day sounds good it doesn't make me feel any better and really it just feels overwhelming and just makes me want to hide....with a big bag of warm, sugar coated nuts (no I will not share). Umm, so the B side is that as much as my heart aches and as sick to my stomach as things make me right now I would rather be able to feel than be completely numb...I think but I'm not completely able to appreciate it just now ;)
