14 Weeks

Today baby is 14 weeks in utero! Baby's body systems are starting to work on their own. The digestive system practices moving food along the intestines and through the renal system and baby can create and eliminate urine.

Baby also continues to practice breathing the amniotic fluid in and out of his lungs. Baby has tiny, soft nails on his fingers and toes, is growing hair and may even suck his/her thumb. Baby is approximately 3 ½ -4 inches and weighs approximately 1.5 ounces.

Baby's blood is beginning to form in the bone marrow and blood vessels are beginning to connect various parts of the fetus. The joints and muscles allow baby full body movement so baby is able to move around.

Kayla told Mark that when I'm asleep she wanted to cut the baby out and tape up my belly (so I wouldn't know) because she could play with the baby! Marky and DD Cakes are really hoping for a boy and both Ellie and Kayla are pulling for a girl! I'll happily take HEALTHY!

On the B Side: I am grateful to be feeling well!

first of all what in the world are you doing up so early!
second the baby having fingernails totally reminds me of Juno.

Juno?! You're going to have to help me out with this one...

Juno MacGuff: The-the baby? I don't really know much about it other than, I mean, it has fingernails, allegedly.

Bren: Nails, really?

Juno MacGuff: Yeah!

Who in the crap is Juno MacGuff?! I think you've done one too many renditions of Flash Dance this week, lady!

Haven't you ever heard of the movie JUNO? It's playing in theaters right now and up for 4 oscars.

Nope! That's news to me...I must have missed that memo from Larry H. Miller! I rely on you for these types of things (I know you're still having a love affair with People magazine)! Other than the U2 3D Concert I couldn't tell you the last time I saw a movie in the theatre. I think this officially makes me old :(

let's just hope that baby doesn't pick up on momma's worst habit and become a nail biter!
