Breaking what? BREAKING MY HEART! I'm sorry, did you say Breaking Dawn or Broken Down?!
I know, I know. It's the
Twlight series. Do I love it? Yes. The answer is yes. I am satisfied/pleased with
Breaking Dawn? No. The answer is no. This is just my silly opinion and part of it is shadowed by the fact that it's all over.
I did love the continuity, the complexity of relationships, the sacrifice, the choices and the agency given to the characters. The emotional draw is also a plus with Meyer; however, it wasn't nearly as strong for me in this one.
On a less pleasant but still realistic note, the plot felt rushed and underdeveloped (despite the 760+ pages). Everything was tied up pretty as a package, the forshadowing was somewhat obvious and the messages it sends are
not realistic. Bleck.
Ultimately as much as I
liked it, I didn't
love it. The bar was set way too high far too early with the previous three books. I am left feeling like she needs to redeem herself with another book
On the B Side: I love to read and making time to do so has been a priority with this author. The character development has been suburb (except for that one with the awful name that I will not mention) and the play lists seriously rock!! I'm sad/frustrated/disappointed/relieved that it's over until the movie (that I'm not sure I can bear to watch!)
