Outwitted

He drew a circle that shut me out
Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout
But love and I had the will to win

We drew a circle and drew him in.

by Edwin Markham

On the B Side: Ask me how much I love this quote. Ask me how strongly I feel about it. The words express such a contrast between warmth, kindness, inclusion, strength, understanding and acceptance to words such as apathy, cruelty, exclusion, unawareness and judgement.

There are times in my life when these words come to my mind. Some times it comes in the form of a gentle reminder and other times it comes in the form of a quiet heart ache. Either way I do so love them. xoxo

Britta-
I know this is not the place, but I am busting up!!! Remember when we went to the hypnotist and I did the worm across the stage? Man I wish we had video of that.
Love,

Britta,
I have always loved this quote. Your appraisal of it is exact.
Ask me what it makes me think of instantly: the worst ward I have ever been in. The ward I moved away from...today. ugh.
There are a handful of people who I think of as those in the latter part of your apt description. But too many in the former.
For awhile I wanted to to flee Utah and head back to Zion.
I know where we are going will be a little more on the Zion end of things.
I don't know how it happened because I have always been able to be the one who had the "will to win". I think I just lost hope.
There. Now it is in print. I have never been so glad to leave a place.

PS a great big Thank you to Mark and to you for giving him up for the day. He worked so hard. xoxo

very cute poem, never heard it before. On a different topic, I was just thinking about our conversation and started laughing and thinking I need to post the romors song from the 80's on my blog. "...Look at all these rumors, surrounding me everyday, I just need some time, some time to get away from, from all these rumors I can't take it no more..." LOL I don't even remember who sang that song, probably should google it for laughs
